The problem of early pregnancy is relevant because in the modern socio-economic conditions of the country, the number of early pregnancies and births among adolescents is increasing every year. This is a global trend. According to WHO, about 16 million girls aged 15-19 years get pregnant and give birth, which accounts for up to 11% of all births in the world. According to the information base in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2022, the rate of pregnant women among adolescents aged 15-17 years (inclusive) was 6.0 per 1000 of the corresponding population, which exceeds the indicator of the same period in 2021 by 13%.
In addition to the medical aspect of this problem, there are also social and economic aspects. The main psychosocial problems of teenage pregnancy include the inability to receive a full-fledged education, poverty, limited professional opportunities, raising a child in a single-parent family and rapid repeated unplanned pregnancies. Another important factor is the increase in the number of children born out of wedlock. The incidence of illegitimate children among adolescents is 2 times higher than among older women.
