«Hero Pilot: Self-Sacrifice in the Skies»

At the military department of NJSC Semey Medical University, on February 27, 2024, under the leadership of senior lecturer Lieutenant Colonel of the Reserve Medical Service Smailov N.S., an hour was spent for the purpose of military-patriotic education with students in group 3314, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the military pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Nurken Abdirov.

During the event, student Kairtaeva A.M. spoke with a biography of the hero and about his exploits.

Nurken Abdirov was born on August 9, 1919. The war found him a cadet at the Orenburg Aviation School. A native of the Karaganda region died in December 1942 while performing a combat mission. The pilot accomplished a feat by directing his downed plane into a column of enemy equipment. For this, Nurken Abdirov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

It follows from this that Nurken Abdirov and our other Heroes of the Soviet Union made a significant contribution to the defense of the country and its interests. Learning about their stories helps us understand the importance of exceptional acts in history and highlights the heroism of people in difficult times.

These individuals serve as examples of outstanding qualities that are important for inspiration and preservation of national memory.
