At the military department of the Semey Medical University on February 29, 2024, under the leadership of Colonel of the Medical Service Orynbasarov S.O. and Senior Lecturer Lieutenant Colonel of the Reserve Medical Service Smailov N.S. An educational hour was held with students of groups 3314 and 4420, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People’s Hero Koshkarbaev Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaevich.

During the event, student Kazytaeva G.S. presented a biography of the hero.

2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev, one of the Red Army officers who raised the Victory Banner over the Reichstag.

In August 1942, two months before his 18th birthday, he joined a rifle regiment in the city of Kokchetav. Then he was sent to the Tambov Main Command Infantry School, which was evacuated to Bishkek. Only in October 1944, junior lieutenant Koshkarbaev, having graduated from college with honors, went to the front. By the end of the war, he became the commander of the 1st Infantry Platoon, 3rd Infantry      Company, 674th Infantry Regiment, 150th Infantry Division.

The banner raised over the Reichstag became not only a sign of victory, but also a vivid symbol of the end of the tragic period and the beginning of a new era. The hero who carried out this act acted as the embodiment of hope and perseverance, paving the way for liberation and rebirth. We thank the organizers for the educational event.
