On February 28, 2024, students of 2312 group, studying in the specialty “Medicine” visited the city museum “Alash lions. Mukhtar Auezov” with the curator Saydakhmetova Aigul Saidakhmetovna, associate professor of the Department of Physiological Disciplines named after honored Scientist of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.A. Nazarova. In one of the old houses of the family there is a historically significant house-museum of representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia, members of the Alash party.
The house-museum, although compact, surprises with the authenticity of archival data of fighters for the freedom of the Kazakh people, copies of documents written by the hands of Alashordins. After telling about the fact that Semey was the homeland of Alash and the former location of the city on the left bank of the Irtysh, students became interested in the history of the existence of the Alash movement, and admired the diara of the old city of Semey.
The wax exhibits were also amazing – the capital’s sculptor Toleugazy Baigaliev, commissioned by the museum, created full-length wax figures of Alashevites.
The representative of the house-museum gave a detailed explanation for each exhibition and, from a scientific point of view, very competently reported on the relationship between Alash representatives and the great Abai and Mukhtar Auezov. We were grateful for the fascinating, well-written story. And they were proud to realize that Semey was the center of Kazakh culture and education; intellectuals were born and lived and worked for the benefit of society in Semey.
