In 2023, Kazakhstan is officially among the three world leaders in the incidence of measles. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 12,985 cases of measles were recorded in Kazakhstan from May to October 2023. As for the reasons for the aggravation of the epidemiological situation with measles, the Ministry of Health explained the increase in the refusal of vaccination of parents. An increase in untreated children from measles or untimely vaccination leads to an increase in the non-immune stratum among the population. There is no specific treatment for measles, so it is necessary to take timely preventive measures for this disease. The main and most effective means of measles prevention is vaccination. Immunization of the population against measles and whooping cough is carried out within the framework of the national calendar of preventive vaccinations.

In order to increase the awareness of parents (legal representatives) of schoolchildren about vaccination as one of the most effective means of preventing dangerous infectious diseases and to form a positive attitude towards vaccinations among parents by the staff of the Department of OVP Semey NAO “MUS”, head of the department, MD, Professor A.A.
