A clinical mentor

A clinical mentor is a person who will help a young resident form clinical thinking, lay down the first communication skills with patients and their relatives, teach them to make urgent decisions, give an impetus to constant self-development and self-organization, as well as share their invaluable experience and professionalism. Every year, the requirements for the training of highly qualified specialists in medicine are only increasing. And this is understandable: in the hands of doctors, the most valuable thing is human life. That is why much attention is paid to the issues of mentoring in medicine. For me, a resident of the 2nd year of study in the specialty “Family Medicine”, Toleugazinova A.A., a clinical mentor who provides invaluable assistance is Ph.D., associate professor of the department of GM, Adilgozhina S.M. Thanks to a clinical mentor, I have the opportunity to develop skills in diagnosis, decision-making regarding patient management tactics by obtaining feedback from the mentor. The greatest attention is paid to the joint admission of patients, the analysis of interesting clinical cases, the selection of individual therapy, taking into account concomitant diagnoses and characteristics of patients, as well as their further management. During all 2 years of residency training, I gained invaluable knowledge and experience, learned how to write articles and medical reports, without fear of speaking to a large audience of doctors with many years of experience. And the most memorable thing during this time was that I passed the competition and went to the city of Kulsary in the West Kazakhstan region for a professional internship. I would like to thank my clinical mentor for such opportunities!
