On March 16-17, 2024, for the first time within the walls of Semey Medical University, the 3rd National Congress of Young Dentists and Students was held, the purpose of which was to deepen and develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills in dentistry. The main objective of this congress is to develop the research, intellectual and creative abilities of participants, and improve dental skills. The most active and best representatives of Kazakhstani universities in the specialty “Dentistry” (Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Turkestan, Semey, etc.) took part in the national congress. In the classrooms and lecture halls of NJSC “SMU”, the best top lecturers and doctors conducted master classes and gave lectures on current, modern methods of diagnosis and treatment in dentistry. The participants had a great opportunity to meet new colleagues, broaden their horizons, exchange experiences and, most importantly, acquire invaluable knowledge. The first day of the Congress included the grand opening of the Congress, a plenary session, theoretical and practical master classes. On the second day of the congress, Olympiads were held in the areas of therapeutic and surgical dentistry, in scientific work, and an award ceremony for the winners of Olympiads in dental restoration and surgical dentistry and in science.
The organizers of the National Congress are the School of Dentistry, headed by Dean Kayrkhanova Y.O., the Department of Dental Disciplines and Maxillofacial Surgery, headed by the Head of the Department of Dental Disciplines and Maxillofacial Surgery, Suleimeneva D.M., the youth team “DAS” (Dental Association of Dentists).
