The main quality of a medical worker is professionalism. Every year, the requirements for training highly qualified specialists in the industry are only increasing. And this is understandable: in the hands of doctors, the most valuable thing is human life. That is why much attention is paid to mentoring issues in medicine. From the first steps of professional activity, a health worker, yesterday’s graduate of an educational institution, acutely feels the need for professional adaptation. An experienced colleague-mentor provides invaluable assistance in this regard to a novice physician.
At the Department of General Medicine in the 2023-2024 academic year, 18 residents are studying in the residency program in the specialty “Family Medicine”, of which 8 are in Semey, 3 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, 7 in Pavlodar. In addition, residents completed internships in regional hospitals and medical outpatient clinics in the region: Ekibastuz in the Pavlodar region; Ridder East Kazakhstan region, Kulsary city in West Kazakhstan region. Family medicine residents work on the basis of leading clinics in the Abay and Pavlodar regions, East Kazakhstan region: municipal state enterprise on the right of economic management at the Pavlodar region polyclinic, Polyclinic “Discount” Ekibastuz, Polyclinic №3 of Pavlodar, Polyclinic №1 of Pavlodar, municipal state enterprise on the right of economic management at the Pavlodar polyclinic №4 of Semey, municipal state enterprise on the right of economic management polyclinic №7, family medical outpatient clinic №19 Semey, LLP clinic “Zhan-Er”, medical institution №6 East Kazakhstan, municipal state enterprise on the right of economic management Polyclinic №1, Semey, Medical institution “Polyclinic” №8″ Semey, Institution of consulting and diagnostic assistance №3 Semey, communal state enterprise with the right of economic management “Polyclinic №1 Ust-Kamenogorsk” East Kazakhstan region. Residents of Family Medicine, under the strict guidance of their mentors, independently conduct appointments, answer calls, conduct clinician schools and preventive schools among the population, in schools, colleges, participate in medical conferences, and conduct online zoom conferences. Thus, mentoring is a school of professional education, an integral part of personnel policy. Its main advantages are related to improving the process of providing medical care, when mentors provide training to specialists “on the spot.”
