In Kazakhstan, spring fully comes into its own on March 22 – it is on this special day that the bright holiday of Nauryz is celebrated, which marks not only the spring equinox, but also the renewal of nature. Nauryz in Kazakhstan symbolizes fertility, friendship and love. On this day, people dress smartly, go to visit family and friends and keep sending good wishes. For the eastern peoples, Nauryz is the same as the New Year, because both holidays are considered the harbingers of new life.
On the eve of the celebration of Nauryz, Nauryz was celebrated on March 20, 2024 at the Department of Hospital Surgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimatology. The celebration began with congratulations to our assistants, residents and students by the head of the department M.Zh. Aimagambetov. Resident surgeons and anesthesiologists made reports in honor of the celebration of Nauryz and carried out the tradition of “Korisu” and “Algys aitu”.
Also at the department they served a dastarkhan with national dishes: nauryz kozhe, talkan, kurt, irimshik, etc. Nauryz-kozhe is a hearty, rich soup that is prepared from seven ingredients: meat, water, flour, butter, millet, salt and milk. Each component of the dish symbolizes one of the seven principles of life: growth, luck, happiness, wealth, health, wisdom and heavenly protection. We treated all surgeons, department assistants and students to “Nauryz-kozhe”.
It was very fun and interesting, we thank the organizers and participants of this holiday!
