On 03/29/2024, the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology of the Semey Medical University held a curatorial hour on the topic: “Gender equality is the key to the success of Kazakhstani society.”
Participants: students of the curatorial group #5108. The curator of the 5108 group Almagambetova A.A. made a welcoming speech to the 5th year students of Semey Medical University. In her speech, she highlighted that Gender equality is progressing every year and is an important component of the domestic policy of Kazakhstan and its democratic transformations. In his recent address to the participants of the conference “Measures and tools for the economic empowerment of women”, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled the systematic development of gender policy in Kazakhstan.
Gender policy is one of the important directions in the economy, and strengthening gender equality contributes to improving the standard of living of the population, enhanced and diverse development of many professional fields.
Today, gender indicators are used in the formation of the state budget, the development of state plans and programs. Also, the target indicator, according to the Concept of Family and Gender Policy, is to achieve the proportion of women in executive, representative and judicial authorities.
Gender statistics and expertise mechanisms have been widely implemented in the country, a public infrastructure for women’s participation has been formed – women’s NGOs, a network of women’s leadership and crisis centers for women has been created. Special measures are being implemented to support women’s entrepreneurship.
