For almost 150 years now, we have known that tuberculosis is a contagious infectious disease that occurs chronically. Tuberculosis is a deadly disease that does not manifest itself for a long time, for which it was nicknamed the “silent killer”. Most often, the infection affects the lungs and bronchi, although tuberculosis bacillus can affect other organs. According to the World Health Organization, tuberculosis remains one of the most insidious “killers”. More than 4 thousand people die from it every day on the planet and about 28 thousand get sick.

Tuberculosis is curable, but subject to timely detection and strict adherence to all doctor’s recommendations. The treatment is long-term (6-12 months, in some cases longer), but in no case should therapy be interrupted, otherwise the disease may flare up with renewed vigor. Therefore, preventive measures and early diagnosis should not be ignored, and if signs of the disease are detected, immediately consult a doctor!
