On 04/05/2024, in order to increase the effectiveness of preventive measures against tick-borne infections during the 2024 epidemic season, a seminar on the prevention of tick-borne encephalitis and tick-borne typhus was held at the City Sanitary and Epidemiological Station.
On the territory of East Kazakhstan region, bordering our region, natural foci of tick-borne encephalitis are Glubokovsky, Zaisansky, Zyryanovsky, Katon-Karagaisky, Kokpektinsky (Samara region), Ulansky, Shemonaikha districts, the outskirts of the cities of Ridder and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The participants of the seminar were medical workers of medical institutions in Semey, the moderators of the seminar were interns of GP 602 of the SMU, NCJCS group. During the seminar, future doctors covered the epidemiology, clinical picture, diagnosis of tick-borne encephalitis and tick-borne typhus, and the issues of specific and nonspecific prevention of tick-borne encephalitis were discussed in detail.
