On March 30th, 2024, employees of the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, according to the plan of saturday events in the Student Houses of the NPJSC SMU, held a round table on the topic: “Choosing a profession – choosing the future” in the student house No. 3. The events were attended by teachers of the department, residents of the first and second years of studies, as well as students living in that house. During the round table, residents spoke about their chosen professions: gastroenterologist, nephrologist and rheumatologist, and about the progress of their studies. Residents gastroenterologists Muzdubaev Daulet and Togaybekova Madina told students about the composition of the department of internal diseases and rheumatology, the achievements of employees, the specifics of the work of a gastroenterologist, about ongoing scientific projects, and residents – rheumatologists Yeshmukhamet Merey, Ilyas Zhanar, Bakytova Anel, Karakanova Aigerim shared knowledge about rheumatic diseases and the main tasks and areas of activity of the rheumatology service. Resident nephrologist Bagenova Bagdat talked to students about clinical work in the nephrology and hemodialysis departments. The teachers asked questions of interest such as the duration of study, knowledge of English, grant issues and residency training opportunities in cities such as Pavlodar and Ust-Kamenogorsk. During career guidance work, teachers of the department Rymbaeva T.Kh., Shakhanova A.T., Botabaeva A.S. answered all students’ questions. The meeting was very informative and interesting for choosing a future specialty.
