Curator hour on the topic “Gender equality is the key to the success of Kazakhstani society”

On April 8, 2024, a supervisory hour was held at the Department of General Medical Practice by teacher Temirtasova Zh.O. with students of OM group 5214. It was noted that Kazakhstan is moving towards gender equality in accordance with international indicators, which are used to measure progress and compare results in UN member countries. Government policy provides legislative support for women. The main achievements of recent years are highlighted:

* In 2021, Kazakhstan became an official member of two global coalitions: action to combat gender-based violence and the advancement of economic justice and rights.

* The law introduced a mandatory quota of 30% for women and youth on party electoral lists, as well as in the distribution of parliamentary seats.

* The list of professions that restrict women’s work has been abolished at the legislative level.

* There are 31 family support centers in the regions.

* Women’s entrepreneurship development centers have been opened in all regions of the country.

* Liability and penalties for violence against children have been strengthened.
