Integrated lesson on the Anatomy of the bones of the facial skull

An integrated lesson on the technology of team-based learning (TBL) held on April 24, 2024 with 1st year students of the specialty “Medicine” and “Pediatrics” at the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Topographic Anatomy named after prof. N.A. Khlopov. The theme of the lesson is “Anatomy of the bones of the facial skull.” During the lesson, students pass through individual (IRAT) and group (TRAT) testing on anatomy of the bones of the facial skull as well as grammatical constructions of Latin terms. Students passed practical skills by OSPE, discussed clinical situations first in groups then in front of the audience, and answered questions on the topic while conducting “Own Game”, where questions ranked by degree of difficulty with different numbers of assigned points. The final mark of the class calculated using Excel.

The lesson in group 1232Pediatrics was conducted by the head of the department S.K.Kozhanova, in groups 1231Pediatrics and 1225Medicine – by senior lectures of the department G.M.Esbolatova, D.O.Sadykova and teacher of Latin M.S. Nurtazina. The lesson was attended by G.R.Ibraeva. At the end of the lesson, students gave feedback on the lesson, noting the need for such lessons.
