May 1 is the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, a holiday of friendship and harmony of all ethnic groups of Kazakhstan, it is a holiday of Kazakhstani patriotism, devotion to our country and people. All the achievements of our country have been achieved thanks to peace and harmony. Getting to know the traditions and culture of those who live nearby helps to better understand the spiritual world of their people.

On April 25, 2024, the Abai Regional Universal Library hosted an event dedicated to the state holiday of May 1, the Holiday of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by teachers Van O.T., (Department of Simulation and Educational Technologies), Kovaleva L.V. (Department of Physiological Disciplines named after Honored Scientist of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.A. Nazarova) and students of 1508, 2615, 2616, 3444 foreign groups of  NCJSC “Semey Medical University”. The staff of the library of the Department of Foreign literature Valiullina Asiya Rinatovna, Abeldinova Aizhan Serikpaevna congratulated the guests of this event on the upcoming holiday on May 1 – the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. A festive program was presented: a presentation “Under a single Shanyrak”, a story about the nationalities living in Kazakhstan, a speech by representatives from the Semey Friendship House. The students participated with great interest during the event, prepared and demonstrated a presentation about their country themselves, and performed a song.
