At the Department of Hospital Surgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimatology, on April 23, 2024, on the basis of the University Hospital NJSC “MUS”, in order to conduct career guidance work on admission to residency, a meeting was held for 7th year interns wishing to enter residency in the specialties “General Surgery” and “Anesthesiology” and resuscitation for adults and children”
Head of the department Aimagambetov M.Zh. gave a presentation to the audience, where he introduced the interns to the staff of the department, the history of the department, its achievements, equipment, clinical sites, and the work of residents in the department. He especially noted the material and technical capabilities, the range of treatment and diagnostic measures, the professionalism of the staff of the university hospital, as well as other clinical bases of the department located in the cities of Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar. Clinical mentors of residents are teaching staff of the department and leading specialists of clinical sites. The medical work of the teaching staff was also noted, which includes conducting medical conferences, clinical discussions, consultations, rounds and supervision of patients, consultations with patients in other departments of the hospital, reviewing patient records, participation in CILI, scheduled and emergency duty, work in dressing rooms and other departments hospital, performing a wide range of surgical interventions, anesthesia and other medical procedures, diagnostic procedures, intensive care. Currently, the department is training residents in the specialties “General Surgery” and “Anesthesiology and Reanimatology for Adults and Children,” which are designed for 3 years. Resident surgeons supervise patients, actively participate in the treatment and diagnostic procedures of supervised patients, perform scheduled and emergency duty, assist in operations, and independently perform operations under the supervision of clinical mentors. Resident anesthesiologists also perform scheduled and emergency duty, independently perform anesthesiology and intensive care appointments under the supervision of clinical mentors. Residents actively participate in the scientific research of the department. Over the past three years, more than 20 articles and abstracts have been published jointly with residents. They are co-authors of the copyright certificate for intellectual property.
In his speech, the head of the department spoke about the opportunities for residents to undergo internships on academic mobility in leading clinics in Kazakhstan, near and far abroad.
