On April 24, 2024, at the Department of Hospital Surgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimatology, a regular meeting of students of the scientific circle was held. Leaders of the scientific circle students were present: Abdrakhmanov S.T., Auyenov M.A., Masalov A.E., as well as teachers of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences. Professor Aimagambetov M. Zh., Doctor of Medical Sciences Professor Bulegenov T.A., Ph.D. Professor Masalimov E.O. 1-2 year students participated. The topic of the meeting was: “Surgery on the road to science. Teaching surgical skills.” In the report, we looked at the evolution of surgery as a science, methods of teaching surgical skills, including simulation training, practice in models and virtual environments, and the importance of continuous professional development for surgeons.
At the meeting, issues were discussed ranging from the history of the department of hospital surgery, anesthesiology and resuscitation, as well as topics such as discoveries in the field of surgery, surgical instruments, basic suturing methods and types of nodes and the most important aspects that need to be taken into account during different types of surgical interventions.
The study of surgery as a science has a number of important goals: improving the quality of medical care; development of new methods and technologies; reducing risks and complications during operations, which significantly increases patient safety; progressive learning and skills training; advancement of scientific knowledge in this area.
Participants in the circle meeting received basic information for further development in the field of surgery and the study of surgery as a science.
