On April 25-27, 2024, a grandiose event in the history of Kazakhstan rheumatology took place: the APLAR Symposium – 2024 and the 7th Congress of Rheumatologists of Kazakhstan. Speakers from more than 20 countries took part in the event! Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor R.L. Ivanova and acting professor of the department Goremykina M.V. from the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology of Semey Medical University NJSC. took an active part, who moderated sections No. 4 “SLE: REGIONAL ISSUES IN MANAGEMENT” and No. 7 “OSTEOPOROSIS IN RHEUMATIC DISEASES. IS IT DIFFERENT? At the section of young scientists “APLAR young rheumatologist oral abstract session” our department was represented by assistant Petrova Yu. Rheumatology residents of the first and second years of training from Semey, Pavlodar were also present as participants in the Mid-term APLAR Symposium – 2024 and the 7th Congress of Rheumatologists of Kazakhstan in an online format.

Participation in such events provides the opportunity to exchange experiences, the prospect of international cooperation, and also gives rheumatology residents inspiration and incentive to master the specialty of rheumatology.
