Educational conversation with children’s hospital patients about Botkin’s disease

On April 29, as part of a project of the Department of Pediatrics, 7th year interns of the specialty “General Medicine” held an informational and preventive conversation with patients in the children’s hospital. The purpose of the lecture was to introduce early signs, preventive methods of combating hepatitis A disease, also known as Botkin’s disease. Botkin’s disease is an acute infectious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus. The virus is well transmitted through the nutritional route, through contaminated food and water, annually by the virus About ten million people become infected. From the lectures, patients were educated about the importance of routine actions such as washing hands before eating and washing vegetables and fruits. And special attention was paid to such actions as drinking boiled water, keeping the room and restroom clean because in developing countries and in areas with poor hygiene, the incidence rate of hepatitis A is quite high. And also in connection with the adoption of the new vaccine schedule, the importance of getting vaccinated was noted because the vaccine against the hepatitis A virus effectively curbs outbreaks of the disease around the world. Experiences around the world show that hepatitis A disease can be prevented through vaccination, compliance with hygiene and sanitation rules. From the lecture, the listeners received useful information; we express our gratitude to the teacher Bektar Zhansul Sergeldykyzy for his assistance and the opportunity to carry out important work on awareness of the problem of hepatitis A today and measures to prevent the disease.
