The Department of Maternal and Child Health Protection of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan instructed medical universities provide training for medical workers in the regions in order to prevent the risk of exacerbation of the Crimean hemorrhagic fever. On May 20, 2024, an online seminar was held for medical workers of the Abai region, Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions on the prevention of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever. The seminar was started by the chief infectious disease specialist of the region Abai, Ph.D. Efendiev I.M. He stressed the urgency of the problem and gave the floor to the lecturer, Associate professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology NCJSC “SMU”, S.B. Maukayeva. The lecture revealed the history of the discovery of CCHF, epidemiological features of infection. It was noted that natural foci of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever are found in many countries, including Kazakhstan, and are supported by the circulation of the virus between ticks and birds, small mammals, cattle, and birds. The issues of diagnosis and treatment were presented on the basis of the Clinical Protocol for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever dated 03/29/2019, Protocol No. 60 and WHO materials. Emphasis was placed on the prevention and control of infection, issues of safety of medical workers when working with patients with CCHF.
