Seminar on the topic “Meningococcal infection and poliomyelitis in children”

On May 4, 2024 the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Semey city for medical workers of health care institutions of Semey city has organised a seminar on “Epidemiology, etiology, clinic, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of meningococcal infection and poliomyelitis.  Immunological (serological) monitoring of poliomyelitis, tetanus, diphtheria, rubella and measles”. 

The head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Semey city Chokushev Sh.U. made a welcoming speech, dwelling on the epidemiology of meningococcal infection and poliomyelitis. 

Then the head of the department of sanitary-epidemiological control of infectious and parasitic diseases in the city of Semey Tlekina D.B. reported on the resolution from 12.04.2024 № 5 “On the organization of sanitary and preventive measures for meningococcal infection and the resolution from 09.04.2024 № 9 “On carrying out sanitary and preventive measures for poliomyelitis, tetanus, diphtheria, rubella, measles”.  The report on the theme “Etiology, epidemiology, classification, clinical picture, laboratory diagnostics, treatment and preventive measures in meningococcal infection and poliomyelitis in children” was made by Smailov E. S., assistant of the department of pediatric infectious diseases of NCJSC «SMU». Kuralova A.N. presented to the attention of listeners order of the Ministry of healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 27.05.2021 № 47 “On the organization and conduct of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures in meningococcal infection”. Doctor-bacteriologist Kumarova A.M. told about “Rules of sampling, storage, transport and laboratory research of meningococcal infection”. Summarising the results of the seminar Smailov E. S. and Tlekina D. B. answered the questions of the trainees. The participants of the seminar expressed their gratitude to the organizers.
