On 20 May 2024, the teacher of the department of epidemiology and biostatistics Tukinova Assel Rishatovna held a conversation with the students of the curatorial group 429 speciality “General Medicine” on the topic “Psychological hygiene”. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarise students with the basic principles and methods of maintaining mental health, as well as preventing stress and negative emotions in academic and personal life.
During the talk, the supervisor emphasised the importance of regular physical activity, proper daily and rest regime, and the ability to allocate time and tasks efficiently. Students discussed various relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises, meditation and yoga that can help reduce stress levels and increase happiness and life satisfaction.
The importance of social bonding and socialising with friends and loved ones, which play a key role in maintaining mental health, was also highlighted.
At the end of the talk, the supervisor encouraged the students to regularly analyse their emotional states and take steps to improve them. He also suggested seeking help from psychologists and other professionals if there are difficulties in dealing with personal problems.
Thus, the talk on “Psychological Hygiene” helped students to better understand the importance of maintaining mental health and to familiarise themselves with the various methods and techniques that can help them to do so.
