Excursion to the Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky

On May 24, 2024, Head of the Department of Physiological Disciplines named after Honored Scientist of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.A. Nazarova Rakhyzhanova S.O., teachers Yusupova B.S. , Shakabaeva A.S. jointly by curatorial groups of 2316 students in the educational program “Medicine” and 2431 in the educational program “Pediatrics” visited the literary and memorial museum of F.M. Dostoevsky.

   The Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky was created on May 7, 1971 in the house of postman Lepukhin on Krepostnaya Street (now Dostoevsky). Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, after 4 years in the Omsk convict prison, was sent to Semipalatinsk, where the writer lived for two and a half years – from 1857 to 1859. It has been established from letters that in Semipalatinsk the following were written: “The village of Stepanchikovo and its inhabitants” for the “Russian Messenger” and “Uncle’s Dream” for the “Russian Word”.

   Visitors to the literary and memorial house-museum of F.M. Dostoevsky have the opportunity to learn a lot of interesting things about the life and creative path of the great writer. The museum houses the autograph of Fyodor Dostoevsky, as well as rare editions of the works of the writer and his contemporaries, a huge collection of books with autographs, pre-revolutionary literary criticism, memoirs and much more.

   Students received a lot of interesting and useful information about the writer’s biography and his literary heritage.
