On May 23, 2024, a seminar was held with the participation of lecturer Natalia Nikolaevna Laptei, a cardiologist of the highest category, head of the advisory department of the Outpatient Center institution, on the topic “Clinical approach to comorbid patients in cardiology”. This seminar was attended by cardiologists, internists, GP, as well as interns of the Department of General Medical Practice of the Ust-Kamenogorsk branch with the curator Sh.D. Yensibayeva.

Comorbid patients predominate at outpatient appointments with a general practitioner or a specialist. This creates additional difficulties both in diagnosis and in choosing the optimal treatment tactics. Firstly, the specialist doctor focuses his attention on the pathology that is relevant to him. Secondly, the clinical guidelines highlight individual diseases. Therefore, issues of comorbidity often remain on the periphery of practical health care. A team approach with the participation of a general practitioner and specialist doctors having a patient-centered nature, taking into account the entire complex of existing diseases, the condition and age of the patient, should become mandatory in the treatment process.

Such seminars will always be relevant. Given that medicine does not stand still in development, seminars allow you to refresh knowledge, work out skills and share experiences.
