Seminar “Leishmaniasis. Clinic, diagnosis, treatment and prevention” with the participation of an international speaker

According to the thematic plan “Tropical Diseases,” a seminar was held with resident infectious disease specialists of group 101 on the topic: “Leishmaniasis. Epidemiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment.” Every year, according to WHO estimates, between 700,000 and 1 million new cases of the disease occur worldwide.
The speaker of this seminar was Lola Jalilovna Akhmedova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Infectious and Children’s Infectious Diseases of the Tashkent Medical Academy. Professor Akhmedova L.D. presented epidemiological data on leishmaniasis in the world and Uzbekistan, covering in detail the clinic, methods of diagnosis and treatment of visceral leishmaniasis. Separate emphasis was placed on the prevention of this parasitosis. During the seminar, residents received comprehensive answers to their questions and expressed deep gratitude to Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences. Akhmedova L.D. for the opportunity to acquire new knowledge on the topic of the seminar.
