A personal brand is the image that a person projects into the world. It may be based on belonging to a particular company, or one’s own skills, or personal qualities. A doctor needs a personal brand just like any other professional. Most patients prefer to see a doctor whose name is in good standing. If a personal brand is developed by the head of a clinic, it can cause increased demand for the services of all specialists in a medical institution. A personal brand allows you to develop not only professionally, but also personally, because you communicate with completely different audiences. Often, it is subscribers who come up with ideas for posts or studying a particular branch of medicine.
Developing a personal brand is one of the ways to interact with the audience and receive feedback. This helps improve professionalism and motivates self-realization. You always need to keep abreast of the latest research, professional news, improve your skills, and learn, including from colleagues.
Due to the fact that the issue of forming a personal brand is important for doctors of any specialty, an event was held at the Department of General Practitioners in Semey with the participation of 6th and 7th year GP interns, organized and conducted under the leadership of the head. department, professor Dyusupova A.A., teachers Belyaeva T.M., Kamasheva G.T., Faizova R.I., Yurkovskaya O.A., Terekhova T.I., Khismetova A.M., Dzharmukhametova A.S. ., Akhmetova V.T. at which interns 606 of GP group Shyngaev T., Seitzhaparova M., Zhumakhanova S. presented information on the topic “The role of social networks in the development of a doctor’s brand.” It was noted that a doctor’s personal brand is a unique combination of professional skills, personal qualities and reputation that distinguishes a specialist in the medical field. This is how a doctor is perceived by patients, colleagues and, in general, the public. Developing your own brand has a number of advantages: 1) expanding the patient base, since people often look for information about doctors online before contacting them; 2) building your own brand is a very important aspect of helping patients, because, despite the increased popularity of evidence-based medicine, finding a doctor who follows such principles still remains a difficult task; 3) strengthening trust – a doctor with a good reputation and positive reviews inspires more trust; 4) professional growth – a personal brand can open up new opportunities, including invitations to conferences, publication of popular science articles in magazines and collaboration with colleagues. Specific recommendations were made for creating a doctor’s personal brand. The proposed topic evoked a lively reaction from those present and resulted in an active discussion.
