Round table on the topic: “Acute intestinal infections. Diagnosis, treatment and prevention”

Acute intestinal infections (AI) are a group of acute human infectious diseases caused by various infectious agents (mainly bacteria), with a nutritional mechanism of infection, manifested by fever and intestinal syndrome with the possible development of dehydration and severe course in children and the elderly. The incidence of intestinal infections in the world, and in Kazakhstan in particular, is quite high. Every year more than 500 million people get sick on the planet.

The speakers of this event were infectious disease residents of group 101 Madrikov K.E., Saparzhan A.E. During the round table, the epidemiological situation regarding ACI in the city of Semey today was reported. The lecturers covered the clinical picture, diagnosis, principles of treatment and prevention of acute intestinal infections of bacterial etiology (salmonellosis, typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever), the share of which occupies 1st place in the overall structure of acute intestinal infections. The importance of self-preservation behavior and, in particular, personal hygiene was noted.
