Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease based on a complex of neurodegenerative processes leading to multiple focal lesions of the central nervous system, leading to early disability of patients and a significant decrease in quality of life.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects mainly young people, aged 20 to 40 years, which leads to disability of the young population. Therefore, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, MS is classified as a group of socially significant diseases. Currently, the incidence in Kazakhstan is 11 cases per 100 thousand population.
