On June 07, 2024, a round table was held with the participation of Professor, MD of the Department of Neurology, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology of the National Academy of Sciences “Semey Medical University” Khaibulin T.N. on the topic “Optimization of multiple sclerosis”.

          This event was attended by interns of general medical practice of the 7th year, residents of neurology for 1-2 years, assistants of the Department of General Medical Practice Akhmetova S. S., Zhunusova M. K., Yensibaeva Sh.D       

     Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease based on a complex of neurodegenerative processes leading to multiple focal lesions of the central nervous system, leading to early disability of patients and a significant decrease in quality of life.

         Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects mainly young people, aged 20 to 40 years, which leads to disability of the young population. Therefore, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, MS is classified as a group of socially significant diseases. Currently, the incidence in Kazakhstan is 11 cases per 100 thousand population.  The largest number of patients were registered in Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Turkestan regions, the cities of Almaty, Nur Sultan, Aktobe

        During the lecture, future doctors got acquainted with new modern methods of treating multiple sclerosis and consolidated their knowledge of neurology. Such lectures will always be relevant. Given that Medicine does not stand still in development, such lectures allow you to update knowledge, practice skills and share experiences.
