Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is an infection that affects the body’s immune system. The latest stage of HIV infection is acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

HIV affects white blood cells, which leads to a weakening of the immune system. This increases the likelihood of developing diseases such as tuberculosis, infectious diseases and some types of cancer. During the conversation, the patients learned about the main HIV treatment.HIV infection is treatable and preventable with antiretroviral therapy (ART). If left untreated, HIV infection can turn into AIDS, often many years after infection. Clear recommendations were given and everyone received answers to all their questions.
