Erlan Myrzabosynovich Asylbekov was born on February 3, 1963 in Semipalatinsk (now Semey) into a family of employees. After graduating from the Mynbulak secondary school in the Ayagoz district of the Semipalatinsk region in 1980, he entered the medical faculty of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute, which he successfully graduated in 1986. He began his career as a junior and then as a paramedic in the surgery department of the linear railway hospital in Semipalatinsk while studying at the institute.
After graduating from the institute in 1986, he completed an internship in the specialty of surgery in Dzhambul. From 1987 – 1990 worked as a doctor-surgeon in the medical and sanitary unit of the city of Zhanatas, Dzhambul region. From 1990 – 1992 Studied in clinical residency in the specialty – surgery at the Novokuznetsk SIATD. From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a surgeon in the surgical department of the regional clinical hospital in Semipalatinsk, from 1996 to 2008 – head of the operating department, from March 2008 to the present – head of the surgical department of the adult hospital of the University Hospital of the NAO Medical University Families”.
In 2002, he successfully defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Improving surgical tactics for perforated duodenal ulcers.” Co-author of 75 scientific publications, 5 patents for inventions, 10 innovation proposals. He has the highest qualification category in the specialty “General Surgery”.
E.M. Asylbekov took advanced training courses in leading scientific centers, clinics in Kazakhstan, Russia on current and selected issues of clinical surgery and achieved high qualifications in his specialty.
E.M. Asylbekov is an excellent clinician, a highly qualified surgeon with a wide range of knowledge and practical skills, and is one of the leading surgeons and organizers of surgical services in the Abay region.
He masters the technique of operations on the thyroid gland, lungs, esophagus, mediastinal organs, adrenal glands, gastrointestinal tract, organs of the hepatobiliopancreatic zone, coloproctology. He introduced a number of techniques in the clinic: hernia repair with autodermoplasty according to Yanov for complex ventral hernias, programmed laparostomy for peritonitis, subtotal resection of the esophagus from the abdominocervical approach with simultaneous posterior mediastinal esophagogastroplasty according to Chernousov, endovideosurgical operations for pathologies of the gallbladder and biliary tract, diaphragmatic hernias ah, gynecological diseases.
E.M Asylbekov carries out a lot of public work. He is a member of the Society of Surgeons of the region and is constantly involved as an expert on surgical issues. He successfully collaborates with the country’s leading clinicians and surgeons, as a result of which modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of various surgical diseases have been introduced into the clinic.
Erlan Myrzabosynovich actively participates in the training of interns and residents, passing on his knowledge and vast clinical experience to young colleagues and students. Many years of fruitful work are marked with the badge “Kazakhstan Respublikasy densaulyk saktau isinin uzdigi”, the nomination “Golden Scalpel”, diplomas of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akim of the city and region.
Thanks to his high culture and moral qualities, principled life positions, deep professional knowledge and skills, Erlan Myrzabosynovich has earned himself the well-deserved respect of colleagues, students, and patients. And today he continues to work successfully as a leader – organizer, teacher – mentor, doctor – clinician. Together with his wife Gulnara Kabdyrashimovna they raised 3 children. He is a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather.
