Meeting with the outstanding infectious disease doctor Daria Umirkhanovna Kaukenova

On the eve of Medical Worker Day on June 14, 2024, a meeting was held with the outstanding infectious disease doctor Daria Umirkhanovna Kaukenova. The moderators of this event were the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenereology and Immunology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor N.K. Shaimardanov. and associate professor, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Smail E.M.
Resident students of the 5207 supervisory group (curator Smail E.M.), students of the 5205 group of the Faculty of General Medicine, and infectious disease residents of the 1st year of study (Semey, Pavlodar) were invited to a meeting with the outstanding doctor.
Daria Umirkhanovna’s medical experience is 50 years, of which 26 years have been teaching. An outstanding infectious disease specialist completed an internship in infectious diseases in 1974, in 1977-1981. – clinical residency in infectious diseases at SSMI.
The highest qualification category, the category of infectious disease doctor, was awarded in 1989, which remains indefinite since 2009. Kaukenova D.U. is an Excellent Member of the Civil Defense of the USSR (1988), awarded the state award with the Enbek Ardageri medal on May 27, 2019, author of more than 50 published works.
During the meeting, Daria Umirkhanovna spoke about her career, the stages of growth and development as an infectious disease doctor. An outstanding infectious disease specialist, she worked for many years at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the State Medical Institute, then continued her teaching career at the Pavlodar branch of SMU, NCJCS, and currently works as an expert doctor in the infectious diseases hospital of the Pavlodar Children’s Regional Hospital.
Daria Umirkhanovna, as an experienced clinician of the infectious disease service, conducted consultations with seriously ill patients in the cities of Semey, Pavlodar, on the scale of these regions and districts. The cases told by Daria Umirkhanovna from her practice on anthrax, rabies, echinococcosis, and meningococcal infection were very interesting and informative.
During a meeting with bachelors and residents, Daria Umirkhanovna shared her practical experience, emphasizing the need to carry out differential diagnosis when making an infectious diagnosis.
This meeting with the outstanding infectious disease specialist D.U. Kaukenova. inspired future doctors to achieve such qualities in the medical profession as knowledge, analysis, practice, the ability to make responsible decisions in difficult clinical situations and save people’s lives. At the end of the event, the participants thanked the outstanding infectious disease doctor for the meeting, for her professionalism, work and dedication to her chosen profession. Resident infectious disease specialists of Pavlodar, as a sign of immense gratitude, presented a bouquet of roses and took a photo as a souvenir.
