On August 15, 2024, the entrance examinations for the PhD doctoral program in the specialty “Public Health” were completed at the Semey Medical University. According to the Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 31, 2024 N500 “On the placement of a state educational order for the training of specialists with higher and postgraduate medical and pharmaceutical education for the 2024-2025 academic year”, 11 places have been allocated for the university for doctoral studies in the specialty “Medicine”, for which 13 people applied.

The examination committee conducted the 3rd stage of entrance examinations in accordance with the Order of the Chairman of the Board – Rector Dyusupov A. N360 dated July 30, 2024, in the following composition:

• Chairman of the Commission: Dyusupov Altay – Chairman of the Board-Rector.
• Members of the Commission:
  • Khismetova Zaytuna – MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Public Health;
  • Shalgumbaeva Gulnar – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of General Practice of Semey;
  • Baibusinova Asel – PhD, Acting Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics;
  • Ibraeva Zhanar – PhD, Lecturer of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics;
  • Koshpesova Gulsum – MD, Head of the Research Institute;
  • Nurtazina Alma – Acting Professor of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
• Secretary of the examination committee: Kairatova Gulnaz– Master of Medical Sciences, Lecturer of the Department of Public Health.

To ensure transparency of the entrance examination procedure for the PhD program, the following independent observers were included: Erezhepbaeva Madina – lawyer of the legal support department of SMU, NCJSC and Beisembaev Maksat – compliance officer of SMU, NCJSC. The exams were held in the normal mode, there were no comments from the observers.
