From August 08 to August 16, 2024 the entrance exam to the residency of Semey Medical University, Non-Commercial Joint-Stock Company was held. Conditions were created to make the whole selection process transparent.

For admission to the residency was taken into account GPA in bachelor’s degree, the total final grade according to the results of the final state examination of the 7th course, as well as the entrance exam in the test format.

The exam was held in the main building of the university, in the test form. A checklist was developed to evaluate the knowledge of applicants to residency, where:

-60% was the bachelor’s GPA;

-30% was the total score of the final state examination of the 7th year (independent testing + practical part conducted by NICE);

-10% – entrance test exam. The threshold level was 50% of correct answers from the total number of test questions (25 out of 50 questions).

Future residents were selected in 40 main specialties, and also had the opportunity to take an additional test in two alternative specialties. A total of 538 applicants were registered, of which 8 are absent on the test. Thus, a total of 530 applicants to the “SMU” NCJSC residency took the test.

As of today, the holders of the state educational order for residency have been determined, and the applications for participation in the competition for grants of local government, targeted and paid residency are still being accepted.
