On September 3, 2024, at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenereology and Immunology, a curatorial hour was held to discuss the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by teachers Kozubaeva D.B., Abdrakhmanova G.Zh., Kudaibergenova N.K., Maukayeva S.B. and 3rd, 5th year students majoring in dentistry and general medicine.
The purpose of the curator’s hour was to discuss with students the purpose, objectives and content of the message. The President’s Address is an important document that defines the country’s annual development strategy. The President’s Address covers the following issues:
- “I declare 2025 the Year of Professional Professions”
- By 2029, the share of medium-sized businesses in the country’s economy should reach 15 percent. This is an important task for the government. Now this figure is about 7 percent.
- There is now a growing energy shortage in the world. Our economy requires a lot of energy every day. Therefore, in order to be able to satisfy this demand through nuclear energy, a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant will be held on October 6.
- 1,300 schools in the country are in need of major repairs. Within 3 years, these schools must be completely renovated.
- As part of the large-scale project “National Fund for Children”, a total amount of more than 300 billion tenge was transferred from the income of the National Fund to the accounts of 7 million children.
- From now on, mayors of cities of district and regional significance will be elected only through direct elections.
The conducted curatorial hour contributed to increasing awareness among the student community about all the key issues mentioned in the address of the President of the country. During the discussion, students expressed support for the initiatives of the Head of State.
