In 2024, on September 06, at the Auezov ambulance station in the Abay region, a seminar was held for medical workers on the topic: “Influenza and ARVI: diagnosis, treatment and prevention.”
Bachelors of the 5318th group of the Faculty of General Medicine highlighted the epidemiological situation on the incidence of ARVI and influenza in the world, the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the Abay region
The round table participants were informed of Resolution No. 7 of August 16, 2024 “On sanitary, preventive, sanitary and anti-epidemic measures for influenza, acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and coronavirus infection (COVID-19) for the 2024-2025 epidemic season .”
The speakers recalled that people’s susceptibility to influenza is absolute and the disease can be either mild or severe and even fatal.
The clinical picture, diagnosis of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, and the characteristics of the course of these infections in people at risk were covered in detail. Emphasis was placed on the fact that the most effective way to prevent the disease is vaccination and that WHO recommends annual vaccination for the following population groups: pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy, children aged 6 months to 5 years, older people (over 65 years), people with chronic health problems, healthcare workers.
