On 09/06/2024, the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, according to the plan of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the preventive decade aimed at the prevention of ludomania, promoting a healthy lifestyle, the prevntion of alcohol and drug addiction, held a seminar for curators of 1,2 courses in all educational programs to work with students “Topical issues of addictive medicine. Ludomania. Psychotherapeutic trainings”. With the active assistance of the School of Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Represented by Dean Y.O.Kairkhanova, Deputy Dean Zhumaeva G.A., Temirshenova Sh.N., methodologist Muratbekova D.A.

Topical issues of addictive medicine, ludomania is currently a problem of modern society, especially among the younger generation. Therefore, our university takes an active part in this event every year.  Welcoming remarks to the curators of the 1.2 courses of Semey Medical University were made by: assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology Almagambetova A.A., PhD Seksenbaev N.Zh. In their speeches, they highlighted the main causes of ludomania, factors predisposing to ludomania, signs of addiction, stages of development of gambling addiction, consequences, prevention of ludomania, advice and assistance to those who suffer from gambling addiction, how to overcome Internet addiction, advice to relatives of ludomaniacs. In the system of psychotherapeutic methods of treatment of ludomania and psychological assistance to addicts, the formation of adequate social attitudes is of great importance.

At the end, psychotherapeutic trainings were conducted to increase stress tolerance, self-esteem and a positive attitude to life, where the curators took an active part.
