September 3, 2024 interns of the GP 622 group with the teacher Salmenbayeva M.A. held a seminar on the topic: “Mpox” for medical workers of polyclinic N1. Until 2022, almost all cases of monkey pox were recorded in Central and West Africa. In 2022, there was an outbreak of smallpox in the United States and some other countries. In August 2024, WHO declared a public health emergency of international importance. The disease is transmitted by contact, aerosol, transplacental, alimentary. The symptoms of smallpox in monkeys are similar to the manifestations of smallpox, but smallpox in monkeys is much easier, asymptomatic variants are possible. Treatment of smallpox of monkeys is carried out in an infectious hospital, if it is impossible and mild, at home. Non-specific preventive measures: avoid contact with people with monkey pox or a similar rash; wash your hands more often with soap or use disinfectant sprays; wear a protective mask; avoid contact with live and dead rodents and primates in Central and West Africa.
