Vaccination of girls against human papillomavirus (HPV) has begun in Kazakhstan. This virus is the main causative agent of cervical cancer. Vaccination is aimed at protecting women’s health and preventing one of the most dangerous types of cancer. The HPV vaccine has proven its effectiveness and safety internationally.
On September 25, 2024, the Department of General Medical Practice of the NCJSC “SMU” held a seminar at school #15, headed by the head of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor A.A. Dyusupova, assistant of the Department T.I. Terekhova.
The speakers of the seminar were interns of the 706 GP group who were trained under the “Expanded Immunization Program”, organized with the assistance of NCPH (National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
The seminar was also attended by medical workers of the FMC No. 12 and representatives of the sanitary and epidemiological service. Interns presented a presentation, familiarizing parents and teenage schoolgirls with the topic of vaccination against human papillomavirus. They presented the positive experience of foreign countries. Parents got the opportunity to get answers to their questions.
