On October 31, 2024, students of the 3317 group of the NAO “Semey Medical University” under the leadership of the head of the cycle of the military department, senior lecturer, Lieutenant Colonel of the reserve medical service Nurbek Sadenuly Smailov, visited the Alash Arystary – Mukhtar Auezov house museum. This museum, located on an ancient street of the Tatar Territory in a two-story house of the XIX century, carefully preserves the memory of the times when prominent figures of the Kazakh intelligentsia and participants of the Alash movement gathered here. In 1898, Abai bought this house for Aniyar Moldabaev, where he was a frequent guest. Also, the families of Alikhan Bokeikhanov and Myrzakyp Dulatov lived in this house.

The excursion conducted by the museum’s scientific staff introduced students to the history of the Alash movement, the political struggle of its participants for the independence and self-determination of the Kazakh people. In the expositions, students saw wax figures of Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Myrzakyp Dulatov, Akhmet Baitursynov and Mukhtar Auezov, who became a source of inspiration and pride for their national heritage. Special attention was paid to the period of Mukhtar Auezov’s life in Semey, his participation in the Alash movement and connections with prominent representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia.

Visiting the museum not only broadened the horizons of the students, but also aroused a deep interest in the history and culture of their country. The museum complex “Alash Arystary – M. Auezov” as part of the state historical and cultural reserve-museum “Abai” has become for us a vivid reminder of the importance of national traditions and patriotism. We express our gratitude to our teacher for the unique experience and hope for new excursions that will open up new pages of the history of Kazakhstan.
