Chairman of the Board, Rector Altai Dusupov, together with the university’s trade union committee, congratulated healthcare veteran Meyrash Kultaevich Zhumabayev on his 80th birthday. Altai Akhmetkalievich presented the hero of the day with the medal “Family Medicine University, sirgen yenbegi ushin”.
Meyrash Kultaevich was born on January 1, 1945 in the village of Karaul, Abai district, Semipalatinsk region. In 1967, after graduating from the medical faculty of the SSMI, he entered postgraduate studies at the Department of Histology. Since 1970 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Histology, and since 1974 as a senior lecturer at the Department of Biology. In 1985 he defended his PhD thesis. Since 1986, he held the position of Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine, then Deputy Dean of the Pediatric and Medical Faculties.
Since 2002, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.K.Raisov and a scientific consultant to PhD students specializing in Public Health. He is the author of more than 80 scientific papers.
