The Concept of the Nauryz decade was approved in the country in order to restore the original meaning of the Nauryz holiday and fully reveal its subtleties. In the modern history of Kazakhstan, Nauryz marks the beginning of a new political era, which has given impetus to full-fledged transformations. The beginning of a new cycle in the renewal of nature can be compared with the beginning of a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan.

March 17 is the Day of Culture and National Traditions.

On the day of culture and national traditions, the rich cultural heritage of our people will be revealed, and the importance of its transmission to future generations will be determined. For our people, where every class of life is connected with traditions, it is important that it be sustainable and reflect our lives.

Therefore, the thematic content on March 17 is dedicated to the promotion of culture, art and national values.

On this day, in every region of the country, the importance of culture and national traditions becomes the center of the holiday.

On March 17, 2025, in accordance with the Nauryznam decade plan of the NCJSC, Semey Medical University, an event “Day of Culture and National Traditions” was held in the assembly hall of the main building with the participation of several departments. The Department of Physiological Disciplines named after the Honored Scientist of the Republic of Kazakhstan T. A. Nazarova, together with curatorial groups, presented the Betashar tradition. One of the most beautiful Kazakh wedding ceremonies is betashar. “Betashar” is the greeting of the bride, the opening of the bride’s face in front of relatives. It is preceded by a number of other equally beautiful rituals.

The teachers of the department, together with the students of the curatorial group, took an active part at a high level. The educational event was very interesting and informative.

This event was held with the aim of resuming such educationally significant events in order to leave a legacy of traditions embodying the greatness of the nation for future generations.
