Visit to the Longevity Center within the framework of the “Silver University” project

As part of the social and educational project “Silver University”, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology of Semey Medical University organized an outreach visit to the Longevity Center in Semey.

The event was attended by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year residents in the specialty “Anesthesiology and Reanimatology”, as well as 5th-year students (groups 5309 and 5339). Such initiatives aim to enhance professional competencies, develop clinical thinking, and strengthen the social responsibility of future physicians.

The event was held with the participation of department assistants: Orazgaliyeva M.T., Uruzbayeva G.A., Alpisheva S.V., Muratkhanova Zh.M., Syzdykbayev M.K., Rakhimzhanov N.M., Temirgaliev M.B.

The main goal of the visit was to improve health literacy among elderly individuals and to develop skills for early recognition of life-threatening conditions. A preventive educational session was conducted on stroke and acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which are leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide.

During the session, participants were informed about key symptoms of stroke (facial asymmetry, limb weakness, speech impairment) and acute coronary syndrome (chest pain, shortness of breath, radiation of pain, cold sweating). Special attention was given to risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, physical inactivity, and harmful habits.

The event was conducted in an interactive format, encouraging participants to ask questions and share their experiences, which increased engagement and understanding.

In addition to the educational part, a leisure and social interaction program was organized, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere and strengthening intergenerational connections.

This event highlighted the importance of preventive medicine and health education among the population.
