Curator Temirkhanova R. B. On May 6, 2025, a curatorial hour was held with interns of 734 groups on the theme “Zhakypbek Maldybaev (1907-1938) – the first Kazakh military pilot.“ Zhakypbek Maldybaev was born on May 5, 1907 in the village of Shengeldy. He received his primary education from a rural mullah. He started his career as a worker at a gold mine in the Markakolsky district of East Kazakhstan region. In 1928, he headed the committee of farmhands, where he defended the interests of workers. In November 1929, he was drafted into the Red Army. He served in the city of Merv in the Turkmen Autonomous SSR in the 82nd Special Cavalry Brigade. He took part in battles with the Basmachi in the sands of Kyzylkum and Karakum. In 1930, he graduated from the regimental school and became a squad commander. In 1932, he graduated from the Central Asian Military School.Lenin (since 1937 — Tashkent Military College), appointed platoon commander. In 1933, he graduated from the ninth military School of Pilots (since 1938 — Kharkov Higher Military Aviation School) with the rank of “military fighter pilot“. In 1934, after graduating from the courses of the heads of the photographic services and the higher school of special services, he continued his service as part of the 40th separate aviation squadron. Sverdlov Central Asian Military District, based in Stalinabad. On July 24, 1934, he was appointed senior observer pilot and head of the photographic service of the 40th Special Aviation Detachment in Stalinabad, Central Asian Military District. In 1936, the senior pilot J. Maldybaev was awarded the military rank of lieutenant. In June 1937, he was appointed the flag navigator of the flight, and in December of the same year, he successfully passed the tests for admission to the navigation department of the Military Aviation Engineering Academy named after N.E. Zhukovsky in Moscow and became a student of the Academy. In 1938, he died on his way from Spain, where he took part in the fighting as an internationalist soldier. He was buried in the city of Tashkent. The name of the first Kazakh military pilot is given to a school in his native village of Shengeldy, streets in Zaisan, village of Terekty, Kurchum district and in Ust–Kamenogorsk. The curatorial hour was held with the active participation of interns.
