On February 25, 2026, assistants of the Department of Pediatrics named after c.m.s., Associate Professor D.M. Tusupova of the NCJSC “Semey Medical University“, K.D. Abayeva and A.A. Shakirova conducted career guidance work with 9th grade students of the Municipal State Institution “Regional Specialized Bilim–innovation Boarding School for Gifted Children of the Department of Education of the Abai region. The event was attended by students of the curatorial group 5405, K.D. Abayeva, as well as students of the 3432 group specializing in pediatrics. Dana Bauyrzhanovna Seksenbayeva, a career guidance teacher at the Lyceum, made a significant contribution to the organization and conduct of the meeting. She assisted in coordinating the event and interacting with the students. During the meeting, the students were provided with detailed information about the areas of study, the specifics of education, the possibilities of academic mobility, scientific activities and student life of the university. Special attention was paid to the issues of admission, the requirements for applicants, as well as the prospects for the professional development of graduates of the medical university. The assistants of the department spoke about the specifics of studying at clinical departments, the role of practical training and early involvement of students in research activities. The students shared their personal learning experiences, talked about the first steps in the profession, participation in conferences and volunteer projects. The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue: students actively asked questions about student life, learning difficulties and career opportunities. Conducting such career guidance events helps to form an informed choice of a future profession and strengthen cooperation between schools in the region and the university.
