Responsibilities, tasks:
- Managing the work of the ICO;
- Mentoring and advising the employees of the ICO in the course of realization of the functions of the office;
- Preparation of forecasting, informational, statistical, analytical materials for the University management on issues within the competence of the office;
- Participation in the creation of the University’s regulatory framework within the competence of the office;
- Coordination and implementation of SMU activities in external and internal academic mobility;
- Implementation of planning of international activities, management of the preparation of plans for the implementation of contractual obligations on cooperation with foreign universities and organizations;
- Implementation of budget planning of the international cooperation office, preparation of estimates, submission of applications for funding and defense of applications before the commission;
- Drawing up reports on international activities and external relations of SMU;
- Control over the fulfillment of orders and instructions of the Chairman of the Board – Rector, as well as compliance with the deadlines for the fulfillment of instructions and assignments taken under control;
- Representation of the International Cooperation Office in relations with the structural subdivisions of SMU on issues within its competence;
- Organization of collection, analysis and dissemination of information on forms and methods of international activities of universities, on foundations and organizations that present grants for international cooperation and academic mobility;
- Accompanying official delegations, ensuring the implementation of the business part of the program, in necessary cases ensuring participation in the events provided by the program of the visit;
- Monitoring the results and effectiveness of international cooperation and academic mobility of SMU;
- Collecting and processing information on national and foreign events held in non-CIS countries, aimed at the development of international and interregional relations.
Nikolay Shumskiy has been working at Semey Medical University since 2013.
From 2013 to 2024, he held the position of interpreter of the International Cooperation Office.
Since 2024, he has been appointed as the Head of the International Cooperation Office.
