Duration

From 3 to 12 months.

 Financial support

Students may receive a monthly contribution to their expenses, depending on the cost of living in the host country, plus a travel contribution based on the distance from the sending to the receiving institution.

Conditions

The mobility is possible at bachelor, master or doctorate level. To study abroad with Erasmus+, you must be registered in a higher education institution and enrolled in studies leading to a recognised degree. Your home institution and the receiving institution must have an Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement. Your period of study abroad must be relevant for your degree-related learning, and be part of the study programme that you are following. You should go through selection process according to criteria developed by partner universities.

Academic recognition

Passport

All visitors to Kazakhstan are required to have passports which validity should not expire earlier than 3 months from the visa expiration date and must contain at least 2 blank pages intended for visa and stamps.

Nationals of Kazakhstan who live abroad need passports that are valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry.

If you are replacing an expired passport, please kindly provide the visa manager with the newly issued passport along with the old expired passport for registration with the Migration Service. Keep in mind that it is in your best interest to provide us with the necessary documents as soon as possible to prevent any problems with registration.

Visa-Free Entry

International students who are citizens of the countries indicated below can enter the Republic of Kazakhstan on the visa-free basis:

  5. The Republic of Uzbekistan
  6. The Republic of Belarus

 

C9 Student Visa

International students with a country of citizenship that is not listed in “Visa-Free Entry” section need a student visa (C9) to come to Kazakhstan. This type of visa is given for the period of one year and allows you to make multiple entries to Kazakhstan. Visa shall be renewed each year.

Step 1

The visa manager of Legal Office will submit the documents to the Migration Service as soon as the contract with NC JSC “Semey Medical University” is signed. Once the Letter of Invitation (LOI) is ready, its copy will be emailed to you. The LOI will be a decent evidence for the Embassy of Kazakhstan to provide you with a multiple entry visa.

To obtain LOI the following documents should be submitted by the international students to the specialist of the Legal Office, responsible for international students:

  • SMU Visa Support Application Form;
  • Copy of passport;
  • Study agreement with Semey Medical University;
  • Decision of the Chairman of the Board – Rector to cover the state duty payment that is 0.5 of the minimum calculation index (provided by the school manager).

*Apostilled residence permit required if citizenship and residency are different*;

Step 2

Upon receipt of the invitation letter, the applicant submits all the documentation to the Kazakhstan’s Embassy/Consulate abroad where he/she plans to obtain a visa. It is the personal responsibility of the applicant to double-check the list of the required documents (application form, photocopy, fee receipt etc.) on the web-site of the Embassy/Consulate. Also, you will need to pay a visa fee.

The following documents are usually required:

  1. Visa invitation letter;
  2. Passport valid for at least 6 months longer than the validity of the requested visa and have at least 2 blank pages to stamp the visa;
  3. Completed visa application form (available on the web-site of the Embassy/Consulate);
  4. Photo 3,5х4,5;
  5. Visa fee (please note that the consular desk at the airports accept cash ONLY (USD/KZT).

Visa can be issued:

– In the country of your citizenship (by the foreign establishments of the Republic of Kazakhstan: consular, diplomatic, and equivalent representation offices).

Visa issuance processing time: 5 business days

– At the international airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan upon arrival (if there are no consular, diplomatic, or equivalent representation offices in the country of the visa recipient’s citizenship)

Visa Renewal

 In order to renew your visa in the Republic of Kazakhstan before its expiration date, please provide the following documents to the DIC at least 10 working days in advance:

  1. Passport;
  2. Photo 3,5 x 4,5 cm;
  3. Visa Application Form;
  4. Certificate confirming that you are a student of Semey Medical University;
  5. Visa fee is paid in KZT (30 MCI).

Dormitory policies:

Residents of the hostel have the right to:

– use the premises for educational and cultural purposes, equipment of the hostel;

– require timely repair or replacement of equipment, furniture, bedding and other equipment of the hostel, as well as elimination of deficiencies in household provision;

– elect members of the student council of the hostel and be elected to its composition;

– participate through the student council of dormitories in resolving issues, organizing educational work and leisure activities, equipment and design of living quarters and rooms for independent work, etc .;

– to encourage and reward active participation in the hostel’s public life.

Dormitory residents are required to:

– strictly comply with the Rules for the use of hostels;

– observe cleanliness in residential premises and common areas, daily clean in residential premises and common areas, daily clean in residential premises and blocks;

– timely pay a fee in the prescribed amount for accommodation, use of bedding, and for all types of additional paid services provided;

Residents of the hostel are prohibited from:

– voluntarily move from one room to another;

– arbitrarily transfer inventory from one room to another;

– make alteration and correction of wiring;

– use electric stoves, electric kettles and other fire hazardous appliances in living rooms;

– wash clothes, clean clothes in living rooms;

– include reproducers, radios, tape recorders, televisions with loudness superior within the room;

– after 23 hours, turn on sound-producing equipment, sing, make noise;

– stick on the walls of the living room and in public places, except for specially designated places for this purpose, announcements, schedules, reproductions of paintings, etc. without prior approval from the headman of the room (block) or the Student Council of the hostel;

– leave outsiders for the night;

– appear in a dormitory while intoxicated, drink and store alcohol;

Emergency medical care is delivered at the first-aid post at the pre-hospital stage.

In accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 88 of the Code, foreigners and stateless persons located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan are entitled to receive the guaranteed free medical care for acute diseases that pose a danger to others, in accordance with a list determined by the authorized body. (The list of acute diseases that are dangerous for others, in which foreigners and stateless persons located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan are entitled to receive a guaranteed amount of free medical care is approved by order of the Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 1, 2015 № 194) .
