On November 6, 2019, KazMSA activists, in particular the SCOPH committee held an event on the theme of “World Diabetes Day” at school No. 31.
Diabetes mellitus is a group of endocrine diseases associated with impaired glucose uptake and developing as a result of absolute or relative insufficiency of the hormone insulin, resulting in hyperglycemia, a persistent increase in blood glucose. Diabetes is a serious disease that is one of the three diseases that lead to disability and death.
The purpose of the event was to inform schoolchildren about risk factors for diabetes, the first signs and symptoms, treatment and preventive measures. Students held an event in the form of lectures and discussions.
