Biological safety (BB) is an important problem of the world community. Its relevance is determined by the threats posed by infectious diseases and their pathogens, which are becoming global in the modern world.

BB in modern conditions, along with a vast area of activity, is becoming a separate area of knowledge, combining both practice and theory of human protection from dangerous biotic factors. From this point of view, biological safety can be viewed as a developing scientific and practical discipline, which is based on the latest achievements in medicine.

The training of specialists with knowledge of the problem of biological safety in its modern interpretation, competent in various fields of medical and biological knowledge, occupies an important place in the creation of an effective system for ensuring biological safety and is considered as one of the priorities of state policy in the field of biological safety.

In accordance with this, the goal of training specialists should be to create an educational basis on which domestic biological safety will be based, consistent with educational standards and existing international analogues.

From September 5 to September 9, associate professors Smail E.M. and Maukayeva S.B. held an informal education event on the topic “Clinical biosafety. Assessment of biological risks in medical institutions when working with patients with COVID-19 ”for employees of the department of the SEC of the Abai region of the CSEC of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The educational program of this seminar was drawn up. The aim of the program is to acquire additional knowledge, skills and abilities in clinical biosafety. Assessment of biological risks in medical institutions when working with patients with COVID-19. The educational program reflects the questions:

– etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinic of infectious diseases;

– etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis and clinic of COVID-19;

– clinical and etiological diagnosis of infectious diseases;

– biosafety and biosecurity, use of PPE;

– nosocomial infections.

At the end of the seminar, the participants received certificates
