In order to strengthen sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures to prevent the spread of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in the city of Semey, employees of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology of SMU, NCJSC together with the RSI “Semey City Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the DSEC of the Abai Region KSEK of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan” 29.09 .2022 a seminar on the prevention of ARVI and influenza was held with medical workers of the city of Semey.
The staff of the department made a presentation: “Etiology, epidemiology, clinic, diagnosis, treatment, prevention of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza.” The speakers reminded the audience of the seasonal flu clinic, and the clinical features of the A/H1N1 pandemic flu were highlighted separately.
Emphasis was placed on the fact that during pandemic influenza, the predominant incidence is recorded among young and middle-aged people, there is a high probability of a progressive course of infection, damage to the lower respiratory tract (to bronchioles), a high frequency of early (viral) pneumonia, a high risk of developing acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), early development of respiratory failure (increased cyanosis with coughing, NPV > 30 min per minute, SaO2 30 kg/m2). In the “Influenza and pregnancy” section, the issues of clinical manifestations of influenza, ARVI and special instructions for antiviral therapy in pregnant women were disclosed.
